Everyday when the sun crosses over in the sky, the sunlight track is marked on the photo paper. As the "pinhole" on the camera is so small and the photo paper is in a very low ISO rate, the exposure time can be from several months up to 1 year. Every image in the show had been exposured up to 2 months.
Solar Parcel is also an culture exchange project between Hong Kong and Iceland. In February 2014, two Hong Kong artists, Stanley Ng and Ceci Liu came to Iceland with over 50 pinhole camera made by Hong Kong Students. Ceci and Stanley also hosted pinehole workshops for total 59 Iceland students and participants. Total 100 pinhole cameras had be produced and shipped to Hong Kong by the end of February.
In "Solar Parcel" Solargraphy Photographic exhibition , total 30 Icelandic images taken in Iceland will be shown as well as 30 pinhole cameras.
Listhus is a non-profit art organization located Fjallabyggd, north Iceland. Except artist residency program, recently, art eduction and exchange program are introduced into the community through collaboration with international artists. The project of Solar parcel is the first exchange project of Listhus and is supported by Menningarið Eyþings.
