Residency duration: April & May
Who am I?
I'm an artist and curator born in Perth, Western Australia. I recently completed a Master of Arts (Visual Arts) program at Edith Cowan University investigating collective production and participatory practice in relationship to the Internet and its impact on human connection and creativity. Although my work is based in textiles and craft, I also explore a range of mediums including painting, drawing, installation and new media.
What is my plan?
Research & development for exhibition of new work that continues to explore the Internet and its impact on human connection and engages the local people of Olafsfjordur with the intention to exhibit in both Iceland and Australia.
What am I interested in?
I am interested in meeting local community members who would like to stitch with me and and discuss social media use in Olafsfjordur. The geographic location of Listhus Artspace in Olafsfjordur would give me the opportunity to experience a remote location surrounded by breathtaking natural scenery with extremes in climate. I am very interested in exploring the place of technology and social media in this context. I am also interested in meeting other creatives who have similar interests in technology and nature.
